Another manga published in 1994. I hope the title is right but...
Well, If you've seen several manga of Yukari Itô, you'll have to admit that she tends to drawn always the same characters ^^; Here is no exception, but she used them in a quite different and new way, in a very funny and cute manga. That's why I added a part for this manga and not for the others.
It takes place in old Japan (XV-XVIth century maybe) and basically it's the story of an actor, Momo no Jou, who always plays very beautiful women (!), a young girl (at least I think ^.^"), Yuki, and the ever faithful Momo's platonic lover Hi-san.
The first chapter is the meeting of Yuki and Momo and their quest to find the gift left by his father to Yuki. Momo does a great favor to Yuki by playing for her the role of his father (a famous thief ?) during a performance (a male role for Momo ? Whow !!). This first chapter and the discovering of Momo's sex and Hisan is of course a loooot of fun. Momo is incredible. He's a guy and can act a one when it is needed but else... he behaves so like a woman and does a so great woman (but not in a "girlie" way !).
In a second chapter, strange ghost stories spread in a village where they were and they have to do something about that. They meet an old man grieving his lost love and, thanks to Momo, he's able to have a last farewell of his beloved (the ghost of the woman take Momo's body while they were playing the storie of those to lovers).
Finally, in the third chapter Momo and Yuki find a spanish man (Shibazou ??) on a beach... whose first reaction after waking is to kiss Momo ^_~. Once again Momo looks exactly like this man's beloved : Esmeralda. Together they look for the man's hidden treasure, fight with baddies all the while... and at last find the true Esmeralda. Shiba is really funny, especially in his rivalty with Hi, cause shiba sometime happily forget that Momo is a man and not his Esmeralda and is way more daring that the poor Hi (the performance where they made Shiba play is really fun).
